What a way to start off the new year! An engagement session in D.C.?! The city street lights added the perfect amount of color, beautiful bokeh & made for such a magical setting.
Thanks to a mutual friend, I had the pleasure of speaking to Chrissy over the phone & felt connected right away. That’s one of the reasons I love having the opportunity to speak over the phone with new clients…it gives you both more of an opportunity to learn more about each other. She told me all about their sweet pups, how they met, some of the things they love to do together & of course how Sharif proposed. It was a classic story of surprising her with having her opening their front door to him knelt down with an open box <3 What a gentleman!
They live in D.C. & so it seemed like the perfect place to have their engagement session since city life is something they really enjoy together. We felt very lucky that the weather was very comfortable for our session considering it was January. We started off at the Warner Theater, taking advantage of the holiday decorations & lights, then continued down the street to a small park with lots of trees with white holiday lights. Speaking of taking advantage, I am not that familiar with D.C. so I didn’t realize that when we were crossing the street, that it was Pennsylvania Ave. facing The Capitol…so naturally we had to include that into the session & I fell in love with the city as a backdrop.
Here are just a few of my favorite captures from this magical D.C. session. Thank you to Chrissy & Sharif for making me part of their journey <3 <3
